Veterinarians

Diana Lucree, DVM  |  Medical Director

Diana Lucree, DVM is the Medical Director of Options Veterinary Care and Co-Founder and Board Member of Community Cats. Dr. Lucree has worked in veterinary medicine since 1980. She is a high-volume spay/neuter expert who has worked for multiple animal shelters including in the capacity of Medical Director as well as working in private practice.

 

She is especially interested in gentle and low-stress animal handling, spay/neuter for community cats and access to care for underserved communities. She has been involved in both the design, opening and operation of a number of clinics in her career. Dr. Lucree has lived in Reno since 1988 and graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Her free time is devoted to gardening, kayaking, and entertaining her Border Collies.

Denise Stevens  |  Clinic Director

 

Denise Stevens is the Clinic Director of Options Veterinary Care. She is also a Co-Founder and the President of Community Cats. She has extensive experience working with high-volume spay/neuter clinics as well as animal shelter clinics.  She has been an expert consultant for Humane Network since 2016.

Denise is an instructor for the University of the Pacific’s Animal Shelter Management Certificate Program, teaching clinic and shelter operations. Denise was the Director of Operations for SPCA of Northern Nevada, Chief Operating Officer for Nevada Humane Society, and managed an open-admission shelter handling more than 10,000 animals annually in Reno and an open-admission animal shelter and field services for Carson City. As the interim Executive Director of Nevada Humane Society, Denise was responsible for a $4.8 million budget.
