A Helping Hand

Help prevent needless animal suffering by making veterinary services more accessible and affordable to keep pets IN HOMES!

Veterinary Services

When pet owners cannot afford care, animals suffer. Options Veterinary Care aims to deliver quality care and at the same time, keep costs affordable so that pets do not go without critically needed care.

Options Veterinary Care is renovating space in Reno, Nevada to create a state-of-the-art clinic to specifically serve those who cannot afford needed care for their pets.

Although Options Veterinary Care will not be able to provide a full range of specialty services, we will strive to help as many pets in need as we can and to work with animal welfare nonprofits and governmental animal services agencies across Northern Nevada to help them save lives.

Initially, the Options Veterinary Care clinic will be open five days a week and as funding becomes available, we hope to expand to seven days a week with hours that are convenient for working pet owners.

We hope to be able to increase available services as funds are raised so not all services may be available when the Options Veterinary Care clinic first opens.

Options Veterinary Care plans to offer the following services:

  • Examinations
  • Vaccinations and other preventive care
  • Dental care
  • Spay/neuter and other surgeries
  • Diagnostics including bloodwork and x-rays
  • Medications

Angel Fund

The Angel Fund program will seek donations from the community to provide very low-cost or free veterinary service for pets who are in desperate need of help but whose owners cannot afford even our low costs.

While many who cannot afford veterinary care will be able to afford Options Veterinary Care fees, there is still a segment of pet owners who have such limited income that they will need help. We have encountered senior citizens on limited incomes, unemployed individuals, families with children or unexpected human medical expenses, who love their pets, but cannot afford veterinary care.

The Angel Fund will help in cases where there is no other option for payment. Donations to the Angel Fund are tax deductible.

Community Cats

Community cats or feral cats are most effectively and humanely managed through a Trap/Neuter/Return program. To learn more about Trap/Neuter/Return, visit Alley Cat Allies.

Options Veterinary Care will provide low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations for community cats across Northern Nevada. This program will be funded by grants and donations from the public.
