Options Update: Lease signed, new outdoor sign, Holly video

dblankenburg

Options Veterinary Care update – July 21, 2020 Thanks to your support, significant progress has been made toward opening Northern Nevada’s first affordable, high-quality nonprofit veterinary clinic for the public! We wanted to share an update on how things are going with our mission to keep pets and families together when the cost of veterinary care is out of reach. Lease signed: We’ve signed a lease! The official address is 4690 Longley Lane in Reno. Construction to turn the office into a veterinary clinic will start as soon as permits are approved. Renovations are set to start soon. (Please use the P.O. Box for mailing – P.O. Box 60284, Reno, NV 89506.)

Julie's Sign Shoppe in Sparks donated the beautiful electric sign above Options' front door.

Funding: So far, thanks to your generosity, $289,593.22 has been raised toward the $730,000 goal. Please help spread the word about the clinic to friends, colleagues, and family members to help reach this goal, which will allow the clinic to open in late September. New video: Knowing the real-world impact that Options Veterinary Care can have inspired us to create this clinic. So we’ve created what we expect will be the first of many videos highlighting Northern Nevada residents for whom the clinic will make a significant positive influence on their lives. This new video features a 60-year-old Sparks woman named Holly living in low-income housing who is desperate to get dental care for her cat Deja Vu but she cannot afford the $2,300 estimate she received. Watch it below.

Media coverage: The online news site This Is Reno published an article about plans for the Options clinic to open in late September. Read it here. We are working with other media outlets on additional stories. Color tribute/memorial wall tiles: We are offering color tiles for donations ranging from $300 to $1,500 – depending on the size – that will be placed prominently in the clinic lobby. If you're interested in having a wall tile with a photo or artwork in the clinic, reply to this email and we can send along additional information. The tiles can be a wonderful tribute or memorial to a pet or animal-loving person. Naming opportunities: There are still a number of naming opportunities for various rooms in the clinic such as the surgery suite, exam rooms, lab, and more. For a full list and the associated donation amounts, please reply to this email or view them here. Thank you so much for your interest in making Options Veterinary Care a reality in Northern Nevada! Without your support, it could not happen. This is truly a community effort. Please forward this email to anyone you think would be interested in the clinic’s mission. ~ Diane Blankenburg; Bonney Brown; Diana Lucree, DVM; Mark Robison; Denise Stevens
